Nashville, Tennessee-Fall 1996-Friday Afternoon
Stepping off the bus and stepping up to a neighborhood bully, 6th grader Paul Daisy is living large on the message that the universe wants him to be BIG. At least, that’s the message Paul took away from a lunchbreak conversation with substitute PE coach, Tyrone “Supraman” Walker. As Paul explores and expands his newfound “bigness”, a cascade of events unfolds, dragging everyone he knows along in the gravitational wake, including his best friend, local wild-child, DuBell Jones. But how many events surrounding Paul, DuBell, and Tyrone are actually due to chance when a group of young hackers, the Mothers, are several steps ahead of them, operating in the shadows at all times? News reporter and fiercely devoted wife, Loni Lore-Walker, is set to break the case, even if she has to fight her lifelong nemesis, Sylvia Tate, to unravel the mystery.
Is an invisible hand pulling all the strings from afar, pushing an agenda for a contest worth untold fortunes? Or is the universe simply concerned with making Paul’s weekend as big as possible? Or are both parts true?
Book One of The Twelve Rings: A Chance for Heroes introduces readers to a cast of young characters that they will see grown into adulthood as this epic story unfolds to its fullest potential. In this first episode of The Twelve Rings, readers are treated to 1990s computer hacker fantasy, funk music revelations, inter-dimensional time bridging, and a story about young, near-brothers coming of age. If this story fails to attract and keep readers’ full attention the first time, we’ll travel back in time and fix it until it does. We fully expect you will love it.
