BOOK ONE: A CHANCE FOR HEROES

Nashville, Tennessee-Fall 1996-Friday Afternoon

Stepping off the bus and stepping up to a neighborhood bully, 6th grader Paul Daisy is living large on the message that the universe wants him to be BIG. At least, that’s the message Paul took away from a lunchbreak conversation with substitute PE coach, Tyrone “Supraman” Walker. As Paul explores and expands his newfound “bigness”, a cascade of events unfolds, dragging everyone he knows along in the gravitational wake, including his best friend, local wild-child, DuBell Jones. But how many events surrounding Paul, DuBell, and Tyrone are actually due to chance when a group of young hackers, the Mothers, are several steps ahead of them, operating in the shadows at all times? News reporter and fiercely devoted wife, Loni Lore-Walker, is set to break the case, even if she has to fight her lifelong nemesis, Sylvia Tate, to unravel the mystery.

Is an invisible hand pulling all the strings from afar, pushing an agenda for a contest worth untold fortunes? Or is the universe simply concerned with making Paul’s weekend as big as possible? Or are both parts true?

Book One of The Twelve Rings: A Chance for Heroes introduces readers to a cast of young characters that they will see grown into adulthood as this epic story unfolds to its fullest potential. In this first episode of The Twelve Rings, readers are treated to 1990s computer hacker fantasy, funk music revelations, inter-dimensional time bridging, and a story about young, near-brothers coming of age. If this story fails to attract and keep readers’ full attention the first time, we’ll travel back in time and fix it until it does. We fully expect you will love it.

BOOK TWO: THE SHINING BEACONS

Outside Nashville, Tennessee-Summer 2003-Last Session of Youth Camp
Months spent in summer heat ferrying kids on a pontoon boat has DuBell Jones ready to take off for college in the fall. The only thing keeping DuBell from screaming with joy is the obvious rising anxiety of his brother and best friend Paul Daisy. While DuBell is eager to explore a new city free from adult supervision, the coming of his birthday and the end of summer may be signaling an end to everything he and Paul have ever known. But how much distance from home is required for DuBell and Paul to experience freedom when members of the Mothers observe their every step and aim to expand the organization known as Pantheon? Tech guru, blogger, and secret agent Loni Lore-Walker (a.k.a. “Lolo Knows”) is hip-deep in the intrigue alongside her former nemesis, the mysterious Sylvia Tate, prepping to keep as many well-trained eyes as possible on Paul and DuBell once the duo leave the city.

Is an invisible hand pulling strings across city and state lines to push an agenda for a contest worth untold fortunes? Or is the secret cabal surrounding DuBell and Paul betting on a contest that won’t even exist?

Book Two of The Twelve Rings: The Shining Beacons returns readers to the cast of A Chance For Heroes seven years later and one step closer to the finish line of this epic story. In the second episode of The Twelve Rings readers are treated to secret agents in the post Y2K tech boom, a funk music rechristening, high fantasy hallucinations, and a continuing story about brotherhood, finding love, and finally understanding dreams. If this story fails to keep readers’ full attention the second time, we will travel back in time and fix it until it does. We fully expect you will love it.
